Love this!! Getting ready to have our first baby in the spring and there’s so much research about language acquisition and reading too (especially important for us to have books in multiple languages in our multilingual household). I can’t wait to share my love of reading with baby and even more in public too!

Right now I’m in a silent book club that totally takes over a cafe every other week with readers reading all different books, it’s amazing. I always wonder what people who are not in the book club think when they walk in and if it makes them want to pick up a book themselves…

Aww, congrats on your new little one this spring!

We need more silent book clubs. Sounds heavenly.

I’m in. Also, this is the excuse I needed not feel guilty for reading at my son’s basketball games. Come on guys, I’m fighting fascism here.

YES!! Do you remember the Read to your Bunny often campaign? I’m a mom, former kindergarten teacher and current library volunteer—I shelve books in the children’s room at our local library. I love having conversations with families of young children about the power of reading. Yup, I’m that great-aunt that gives books every year for birthdays and Christmas and my heart sang this January when my niece sent a video of her 3 year old “reading” Mama Do You Love Me? by Barbara Joose in her own words after listening to the book read aloud twice. The power of reading aloud!! I love your post! ❤️📘📗📙📕❤️

Love it. Thanks for sharing and volunteering at the library. I was a Sesame Street and Reading Rainbow kid. Reading aloud to others is such a gift!
